performs full-length quality assurance by nondestructive tests using eddy current
equipment, in order to take all possible measures against the variances in the
quality of valve spring materials.
This method uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to examine the entire
circumference and length of a wire to detect defects on the surface. Two types
of inspection are employed to perform inline flaw detection in our wire-refinement
process; one is the rotating probe method, which detects continuous flaws using
a probe which rotates around the wire, and the other is the through-type coil
method, which detects discontinuous flaws on the surface of wire by putting the
wire through a cylinder-like coil.
Nowadays,
HDDs are used widely not only in the mainframe computers used in the business
world, but in consumer markets as well, such as game machines, video, pocket
audio, and car navigation.
Requirements for HDDs will become strict in respect to large capacity, high speed,
high reliability, and low pricing. Therefore, suspensions are demanded to have
optional functions such as signal transfer and highly precise positioning, in
addition to their functionality as sheet springs.
